Bidang kajian penelitian yang dilakukan di laboratorium ini adalah fenomena fisis di perairan pantai (sedimentasi, erosi, dampak tsunami, penjalaran gelombang, pasang surut dan arus perairan pantai, serta dinamika estuari) dan dinamika pantai.
